MISSING CRICKET BAT - 11th of October 2012

An appeal to anyone who may know the whereabouts of a missing Slazenger cricket bat.

According to its owner it was taken from the TCC home changing room sometime ago but it is hoped that this appeal will ring some bells.

The bat is of far higher sentimental than financial value to the owner and its recovery is of the utmost importance.

Could anyone who knows or remembers anything regarding this bat please contact the website administrator via feedback@thornburycc.co.uk who in turn will organise its return or pursual.

Many thanks.

WINTER GROUNDFORCE - 2012 - 4th of October 2012

It is that time of year again when TCC calls on everyone to give a hand to put the ground to bed for the winter months.

The Groundforce date is SATURDAY 13th OCTOBER from midday onwards.

The usual jobs require completion and, as ever, more hands make light work.

Please make every effort to attend, even for an hour or so, as no doubt the bar will be made available to quench the thirst (after you've done some work !!).

UNDER 17 CUP SUCCESS - 21st of August 2012

Thornbury U-17's have made sure that T.C.C. have at least one piece of silverware for the trophy cabinet this season by winning the Don Brooks Plate Cup for the BYCL U-17 league.

The side, captained by Josh Slade, beat Bedminster by 20 runs last Sunday (19th August) at Frampton Cotterell C.C., the hosts for the BYCL Finals Day.

Thornbury batted first and posted 99 in their 20 overs with valuable contributions from Marcus Wormwell, Josh Slade, Stuart McWhinnie and Harry Cameron.

The Thornbury bowlers then put a complete stranglehold on the Bedminster batsmen with a fine display of disciplined bowling with particular mention of U15 Josh Morris (3 wickets) and the exceptional spell from Harry Cameron (4 wickets) who secured the victory for Thornbury by taking a hat-trick to dismiss the last 3 Bedminster batsmen.

A fantastic achievement for the boys and the future looks bright for TCC (a team photo can be found in the photo gallery).

A quick mention for team manager Mark "Fraz" Franklin who ,unfortunately, could not be at the game due to being in New York (!!) but a fitting end to his reign of this squad that he has nurtured for 6 years - WELL DONE FRAZ !!!
