Thornbury picked allrounders Will Gidman – who played six times last season – and Graeme McCarter. TCC are also able to play Chris Dent and Tom Shrewsbury who are classed as ‘homegrown’ players as they played for the club for a minimum of two years before being contracted.

TCC WINS PRESTIGEOUS AWARD - 31st of January 2014

On Wednesday 29th January a TCC contingent attended Gloucestershire County Ground and won the award for "Groundsman of the Year".

This prestigeous and much sought after award recognises all aspects of ground maintenance, wicket preparation, player/umpire feedback and the overall aesthetics of the ground and facilities.

This represents a tremendous accolade and achievement by the club in general but a special mention to those directly involved in the back breaking hard work, that often goes on behind the scenes, namely Jon Oakey, Toby Summerfield, Carl Botha and Kelvin Reeves.

Huge congratulations to those mentioned and all who help in any small way in ensuring that the Ship Ground remains one of the best cricketing facilities in the county.

The above has also been recognised by the return of Gloucestershire CCC 2nd XI and an M.C.C. fixture to be hosted by TCC in the 2014 season (futher details to follow).
