LEAGUE STANDINGS - 24th AUGUST 2009 - 24th of August 2009

It was a mixed weekend for the Thornbury sides as the results for the penultimate fixtures in the 2009 league campaigns were published.

The 1st XI chased down 241 against Bristol West Indies to see them almost guarenteed a promotion spot to Premier One next year and a win against Keynsham in the final game of the season will confirm Thornbury as Premier Two champions.

However the 2nd XI were well beaten by Weston-Super-Mare, a result that confirms the 2nd XI's relegation to Premier Two for the 2010 season.

The 3rd XI lost in a tight game against St. Mary Redcliffe but promotion ambitions are still alive and kicking as they go to Bedminster for their last game of the season.

Everyone at T.C.C. sends their congratulations to Chris (or "Rat" as he's affectionately known by his team mates) and wishes him a long and successful career, although we hope he never forgets where the Ship Ground is !!??

T.C.C. OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP - 24th of July 2009

T.C.C. held their inaugural Open Golf Championship at Thornbury Golf Club on Friday 24th July.

An excellent day was had by all matched by some fine golf (and some not so fine - ask John Wormwell about the pink ball competition !).

Stuart Massey walked away as the first Champion (off a very spurious 19 handicap), Graham Bartlett and Paul Holder finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.

It is the intention to make this an annual event so please check the website and club noticeboard towards the start of next summer when a date will be set.

Full results are listed by clicking below and photos can be viewed through the photo gallery........
